Hello.

Over the last few months I created a few art pieces that ended up turning out better than I expected and I wanted to share my favourite with you as a bit of an introduction to the new year.

The Straw Man is a character I created based off of a straw dispenser at A&W. I drew a little sketch on the corner of a paper menu and then came home and started modeling the little guy and before I knew it he was created, it was almost as if he created himself. After a little while of obsessing over the details of the texturing I was done but I didn't like the idea of rendering him with a flat background or a random image as the background so I then took some time to create The Old School Diner that I eventually used as his "Home Environment". All in all I think that this character and his home turned out great.

If you have any opinions on the Straw Man or any other art that I have created in the past please feel free to tell me about them.

Now, moving on to the future. I plan to start focusing more on the "environment" part of Environment Artist and create some landscapes or environmental scenes so keep an eye out for that.

Thanks and have a good weekend.

Looking Forward.

And The Strawman, its various renders and The Oldschool Diner are now an official part of Indigo's Higher Eclectic portfolio.

Also seen within her Space are previously documented WIP renders of both the Diner & Strawman, so it's definitely worth stopping by for a glance. Remember, feedback and job/commission requests are most welcome, and may be left within Indigo's sub-forum here.

Despite previously deeming her Old School Diner complete, Indigo's decided to return to the 3D modelled scene in pursuit of added detail.

The Diner's most recent WIP renders have now been added to her Higher Eclectic Space, with its most notable additions being the hanging menus and packets of crisps. Older renders can also be viewed at the Space.

Feel free to leave Indigo with any feedback and job/commission requests you have within this sub-forum. 🙂

Creeping into the week and wondering if City Sudoku is even a thing? Apparently it is, combining elements of Sudoku, Bingo and these low-poly tile-sets.

Not only was it 2012 Toronto Game Jam entry programmed by Jason Ko, but Indigo had modelled these tiles as a 3D floater. Like them? Come connect with Indigo or play the game.

In the fall of 2016 Indigo conceived The Strawman, a character concept based off a straw dispenser while waiting for an order of fries. Remember?

Weeks later the artist decided that the character needed an environment to sit within, leading her to progressively develop a typical Diner. Recently, she revisited both the Diner and her Strawman in favor of creating this re-textured render of higher quality. What do you think?

If you'd like, you can also explore the Diner in full-3D via Sketchfab.
